Rookgaard
Rookgaard is the name of the large island located in the Bay of Thais and also the name of the small town on it. On the island there is a mysterious portal through which adventurers from other worlds can enter Tibia. In his wisdom, King Tibianus III of Thais has decided that they may only leave this isle towards Thais and face real dangers after training their skills and getting some experience with weak monsters and rather harmless animals.
On the other hand, nobody may return there later. Only some merchants and teachers reside there in order to welcome, equip, and instruct the new adventurers. Therefore, Rookgaard is also called "Newbie Isle" in the vernacular.
The Island of Destiny is a small but important isle in the North of Rookgaard. Here you will decide which path your character will take in its Tibia career. Ambassadors of the various vocations reside on this island providing young adventurers with useful information. There are four vocation specific dungeons on this island in which players can gather some experience.
